The Five Ws
Who: Alison Gulotta, person who is also a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Sometimes I’m also a writer, teacher, poet, waitress, gardener, pseudochef, and creator of things. My husband says my superhero name would be The Caretaker. (I say his would be Exterminator.)
What: I came here to talk. Which is to say, write. Which is to say, type.
When: Well, I was born in 1980. Now it’s 2020. At least I think so. It’s been a weird year.
Where: Charlottesville, Virginia: birthplace and home for almost a decade after living for eight years in New England, where I taught a lot of kids, met my husband, had a baby, then made like a salmon and swam back to where I began.
Why: I’ll let you know when I have a better idea, but I think it’s because I need to.
